How to Clean Crystals

This is a brief summary of how to clear and clean crystals…from there the journey is yours to discover. 
Crystals can retain the energy of those that touch them, both positive and negative. One way to clean them is to let them soak in a bowl (nothing made out of metal) in lukewarm water and sea salt. I let them sit for half an hour but the times may vary. I lay out a towel on the window sill and rinse the crystals thoroughly in very cold water.  Then I place them on the towel. I let the sun light enter the crystals for a few hours minimum,

 but often times, let them soak up the moonlight as well so that they receive male and female energy. Some people don’t like using the sun too long as it may fade certain crystals. 
Another way to clean them is to place them under a lit smudge stick and let the smoke clear the crystals. An affirmation said out loud during this time would be appropriate as well. There are many affirmations but one example may be:

“Dear “Lord” (or “Universe” or “Goddess” or “the source of all”, whatever you feel comfortable with) let these crystals be cleared and filled with divine (or universal) love, let them fill their highest purpose in accordance with universal  will (God’s or divine, etc.) and the free will of all concerned.” Some people envision the crystals in white or golden light while others transfer the energy of love from their heart into the crystals.  Affirmations are varied but let them all come for your highest purpose and that of all concerned and let it be a loving event.
 
Some people who have the time and space bury their crystals in the earth and let Mother Nature clean them in a most beautiful way. For very “dirty stones” filled with negativity or those that have lost much of their energy, this is an excellent way to clear them.  
YES, IT IS IMPORTANT TO CLEAN YOUR CRYSTALS.
 
As a teacher of the metaphysical, I enjoy others touching my crystals and enjoying them.  However, they do need to be cleaned. I have a healing wand that I let very few touch. It is up to you.
